Your age influences the price when you buy car insurance. The older you are and the more experience you have, the cheaper it will be to get car insurance with various companies. Here we take a closer look at car insurance for the different age groups, so you can get a good overview before buying. The prices are collected by Samlino, who has examined the prices of car insurance for different age groups.
Car insurance for young people (18-24 years)
The most expensive insurances are those that cover the young drivers. It can be relatively expensive to insure your car here. There is no (or very little) seniority of a company, and at the same time, there are statistically greater chances of accidents among young motorists, which of course the insurance companies are aware of.
However, as a rule, we all need car insurance, and for that reason, there is probably no way around it when you own a car as an 18-24-year-old. We find the cheapest car insurance at Gjensidige and at Nykredit, which offers insurance for DKK 9,143 a year with a deductible of DKK 7,580. However, it is also possible to choose another company with slightly more expensive insurance, but which in turn has a lower own risk. In other words, you have to evaluate what is most logical on your own needs.
Car insurance for 25-34-year-olds
Here it will be a lot cheaper. Typically, you have more experience when you are in this charger group and often you will have a bit of seniority with a company. The most important thing, however, is that you, as a 25-34-year-old, are no longer part of the statistical group of motorists (the young people) who are behind most traffic accidents.
Alka is the company with the cheapest insurance for this target group. It costs DKK 3,988 a year, with deductible of DKK 6,000 straight out. Other companies come close – among others ABC Insurance with DKK 4,175 a year, which is also really nice.
Car insurance for experienced motorists (+35-year-olds)
If you are over 35 and looking for cheaper car insurance then this is good news. The insurance companies are particularly generous to this group of motorists. There are many factors that come into play when you need insurance, and as an experienced motorist, you automatically live up to the majority. There is only a small difference between the previous group and this one, but the difference is nonetheless present, and if you are over 35, you have the best possible chances of getting good and cheap insurance.
Again, Alka offers the best deal in terms of price. With a price of DKK 3,546 per year, it becomes quite obvious to insure the car. Alka’s deductible is still at DKK 6,000, just as in the previous target group. Next Insurance follows up. They have more expensive car insurance, which sounds at DKK 3,864, but the deductible is a little lower. Therefore, an insurance with Next may be obvious if you consider that the chance of special expenses during the year is less.
